Depression wellness groups are peer-led groups for individuals experiencing or who have experienced Clinical Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Seasonal Affective Disorder, or Dysthymia.
Anxiety wellness groups are peer-led groups for individuals experiencing or who have experienced Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and/or specific phobias. The groups use a self-help book on anxiety disorders for discussion during each meeting.
Survivors of Suicide (SOS) for Grief & Healing
SOS wellness groups are peer-led groups for individuals who have lost a loved one or friend to suicide. These groups provide insight and comfort to individuals dealing with the trauma and tragedy of a loss to suicide.
Seeking Safety groups are present-focused coping skills therapy groups to help people attain safety from trauma and/or substance use, with the goal of reducing trauma and/or substance use symptoms and increasing safe coping in relationships, thinking, behavior and emotions. These groups focus specifically on assisting individuals who are homeless in the city of Dover, DE.
Virtual groups are offered online via Zoom for individuals who would like to participate in support group meetings but may not able to go to any of MHA’s in-person meetings. The traditional Depression, Anxiety and SOS groups are offered virtually along with several additional meetings. Ge more information on our virtual wellness groups here.
