20th Annual E-Racing the Blues for Mental Health

Location: Glasgow Park – Pavilion # 1 (2275 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702)
Description: “Please join us on Saturday, October 1st at 10:00am as we begin our walk at Glasgow Park, Pavilion # 1 to exercise our bodies and minds to support mental health. Immediately following the walk (approximately 1-2 miles, your choice), join us for our fall fun fest to include, refreshments, prize drawing, children’s magic show and more. Sign up today to register, start a team, and/or to donate. Adults are $25 and there is no charge for kids!! Please register soon- we have a maximum capacity of 125 spots, rain or shine! We are counting on you to continue our life-saving work. Pre-registration required to guarantee a shirt. Cash and checks only accepted for day of registration. 2022 Higher Education Suicide Prevention Conference

Description: “The Mental Health Association in Delaware is proud to present the 5th Annual Higher Education Suicide Prevention Conference! Happening on October 12th, 2022 from 4pm to 8pm on Zoom, we will delve into the theme “How to Support Yourself and Others” in higher education settings through demonstrations of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Tai Chi, and conversations with community leaders in the mental health field. Our keynote speaker, Dawn S. Paramore, LPCMH, NCC, CAADC, CPC, ABD, will be discussing mental health as it pertains to self-advocacy, self-preservation, time management and the process of accessing assistance for self and others in her keynote “FLIGHT 101: A Travel Guide to Mental Health, Self-Preservation and Beyond.” Our panel will engage in an interactive dialogue and explore the topics self-care, self-advocacy, crisis support and more. MHA Chats: Pandemic State of Mental Health with Emily Coggin Vera

Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Training- November

Date: Monday, November 7th to Tuesday, December 6th at 10:00am – 12:00pm
Location: Zoom
Description: “This is a 4-week course which will begin on Monday, November 7th, and will end on Tuesday, December 6th, 2022. Students can expect to dedicate 10 – 16 hours per week to completing assignments. You must participate in the live sessions and complete all assignments to receive your Certificate for 50 Training hours. Successful completion of this course will provide you with all of the training hours needed to apply for the Peer Recovery Specialist Certification in Delaware.”
*Note: It is only open to those obtaining their peer recovery specialist certification. There is an application process and prerequisites in order to enroll. More information can be found on the registration page.

21st Annual Empowering Community Wellness Symposium
