Worksite Education Program and Beyond Stress
Through the Worksite Education Program , MHA helps employees and supervisors better deal with mental health in the workplace by offering an educational seminar called Beyond Stress.
The Beyond Stress seminar helps participants learn to:
- Understand the role that stress plays in our lives and tips to manage stress.
- Recognize symptoms of depression and anxiety disorders.
- Realize how mental health can affect work performance and personal lives.
- Identify local resources for your various mental health needs.
Evaluations of Beyond Stress seminar indicate that greater than 90% of participants learn more about mental health issues and the majority plan to introduce stress reduction techniques in their lives.
This seminar is timely because depression alone costs industry at least $24 Billion annually in absenteeism and lost productivity. Anxiety disorders cost businesses greater than $34 billion annually in lost productivity and absenteeism.
Through the Worksite Education Program, MHA also works with organizations and businesses to cosponsor conferences and seminars about mental health and other worksite issues.
